Our dogs bring so much joy to our lives with their unconditional love! What better way to show them the same love than by giving them homemade treats. I made these treats last weekend for Maggie and the six other Polka Dot pups and they all have been gobbling them up (even my cat nibbled on one too)!

Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

1 ½ cup whole wheat flour

¼ cup rolled oats

1 tsp baking powder

¾ cup milk (low fat or nonfat preferred)

1 cup peanut butter (low sugar/natural)

1 tsp honey

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Whisk the flour, oats and baking power together in a bowl

Gradually stir in the mild, peanut butter and honey

Turn out onto floured surface and knead until soft dough forms

Roll out to ½” thickness and cut with a cookie cutter (I used a small heart)

Bake for 20 minutes

Let cool on wire rack

For my son’s recent third birthday, the venue choice was an easy one to make. Because Braden loves fire stations, my wife and I thought it would we’d arrange for he and his friends and family to tour a local fire station and then head to the nearby park for cake and refreshments. The result was one red hot celebration.
