Halloween Party Ideas, Tips, Tricks and Treats

It’s almost that time of year again, ghouls and gals! So, you want to throw an awesome Halloween party, but you have no idea where to begin? We would like to give you a hand with the festivities with a few easy Halloween party ideas. Here’s a quick list of things you should keep in mind while preparing for the fun!

1. Choosing a theme.
A Halloween is not complete without a good theme idea. There are at least two things you can do: stick to a particular theme or go for a broad Halloween feel. If a general Halloween mood using basic black spiders and orange pumpkins is what you want, that’s perfectly fine. What’s also important is that you determine if the party is intended for kids, adults or both. A few Halloween theme examples for children include the friendly monsters from the Monsters Inc. movie, Hotel Transylvania, Box Trolls, or even Monsters vs. Aliens. Keep it fun and bright. Some theme ideas for adults could be the standard 80’s horror movies, zombies, vampires, erotica, masquerades and other adult themes. You can choose from a variety of other Halloween party ideas such as a forensic lab theme, Goth, Hollywood actors, and actresses as well.

2. Halloween Party Decor.
So, you’ve come up with the perfect theme idea. What’s next? Now it’s time to decide on which Halloween party decor to buy that fits your theme idea. No matter which theme you pick, there are many props and accessories that will compliment your party area. Items like cobwebs, dripping candles, painted leaves, carved pumpkins, branches, and dim lights, guarantee an impressive evening (or day for the kids).

3. Drinks, Games and Treats
Here’s where you get to show your creativity. Whether it’s a party for kids or adults, finger foods are the way to go. You can make literal finger foods for the adult parties. How about various bites carved into the shape of severed fingers, brain cakes, eyes, deviled eggs, rips placed on a tray forming an actual ribcage with a skull right above them? The list goes on. You can also use carved out pumpkins filled with ice to chill bottles of champagne and other alcoholic beverages. Keep it simple for the kids, though. Cut fruit in shapes, make bite-sized sandwiches, multicolored drinks, and desserts. Also, find activities that don’t disrupt the flow of your party. When conversation and laughter cease, so does your party.

4. The Invitation
Your Halloween party invitations don’t need to be complicated at all. Whether you send them by post or digitally, there are lots of options available on and offline. The colors, sizes, and shapes of cards are virtually endless. You can buy pre-made or even add your own twist to cards.

There’s one thing that would be helpful is to keep it simple so people won’t feel pressured to hold to a certain standard. It would be better if everyone felt comfortable at your party rather than everything being “perfect.” After all, it’s about having fun!
