“Please join us for our child’s First Communion” – reading this introduction to an invitation brings up so many reasons to celebrate, to use the very best of the best, after all the First Communion is one of the holiest occasions as it is a rite of passage in the Catholic Church.  As one of the seven Sacraments, First Communion typically falls around the tender age of 7, when a little one is deemed capable of reason and therefore able to appreciate and understand the miracle of the Eucharist.  It is a cause for celebration with deep meaning, as the child, as best they can, understands the mystery of this holy sacrament.  It is our honor, at Polka Dot Invitations, to help provide the perfect introduction to the First Communion event, I have listed below some of my favorites, to set the tone for this sacred event, we have so many to choose from, but here are just a few:

The Beaded Cross Invitation by Meri-Meri looks handmade with pearls and chiffon ribbon, the tips of the gate fold are even dipped in glitter.

Lamb with Cream Ribbon by Sarah LeClere would be such a sweet, symbolic choice for an event like this, the lamb has a tiny bell with a cross hanging from it’s soft, ribbon collar.

This Blue Cross Banner Invitation by Polka Dot Invitations is simply elegant and perfectly suitable for day a celebrating.

Once the event has finally arrived here are some special little things we spotted that we think will just complete the occasion. It’s always fun to give your guests something sweet to remember the event, this is such a sweet idea from the blog holamama. Check out these beautiful little pocket rosary sets that you can find here. And won’t your guests be tickled pink when they see this stunning cake by Chloe Kerr Cake. Finally, don’t forget to capture the first communion moment for the scrapbook. This moment was captured by nostalgia.
