It may take a bit longer, but dyeing Easter eggs the natural way is not only eco-friendly but will also help you avoid staining clothing and kitchenware. To dye eggs on the stovetop, place a few eggs in a pot, cover with water and bring it to a boil. Add a teaspoon of white vinegar and then the dyeing material. Check your eggs often in the dye and remove when you’ve achieved your desired color. Here is what to use to achieve the following colors:

Pink

Frozen cherries or raspberries

Red-Orange

Three tablespoons of chili powder

Yellow

Three tablespoons of turmeric

Dark red

Instead of boiling water, let eggs stand in cranberry juice and three cans of beets

Blue

Chop red cabbage (boil for at least 30 minutes)

Purple

Frozen blueberries

Brown

Boil with coffee grounds or let eggs sit in brewed coffee

Green

Spinach leaves
